It is the little brother of the ‘Handbook Splicing Modern Ropes’. The author, Jan-Willem Polman, selected the most commonly used rope splicing tutorials. Also, all background information on rope materials has been left out. This resulted in a nicely compact splicingbook. Makes a great gift for sailors.

The D-SPLICER set can almost be called a classic since it was introduced a few years ago and sold around the world to sailors and riggers. With an aluminum handle and replaceable needles in different sizes, it is a great tool for splicing ropes. Make sure to use the matching needle size to the rope diameter and only clamp just the tip of the rope between the double wire needle. Occasionally needles can break, but when used in the right manner they last very long.
We have uploaded new videos with instructions on our products on our YouTube channel.
Our distributor Premium Ropes has created a ropesplicing app where D-SPLICER products get great exposure. How to use our rope splicing tools is shown in more than 1000 photos in detail. With over 30 different techniques available. This makes it a very complete ropesplicing app. Once downloaded it is available off-line on your phone or tablet.
When rope splicing it can be very difficult to pull through a rope. Even a D-SPLICER pulling fid will not always do the job as more strength needs to be applied and/or there is not enough space.
A Softfid is another great innovation by D-SPLICER. Simple and effective! You first pull through the thin Dyneema rope and then clamp the rope into the white cover. By pulling the Softfid, the cover will tighten itself around the rope.
Sail-world has chosen the D-SPLICER as the product of the week. “If you are a DIY splicer, you’ll just love this product of the week: Ronstan’s new D-Splicer range of specialized rope splicing tools are designed to take the difficulty out of working with smaller diameter synthetic 12-strand or single braid lines.” Read more
We call it the F-serie D-SPLICER. A serie of three needles with fixed handles. Comes in diameters of 15, 20 and 25 mm. Whilst the original D-SPLICER set has spare needles and a tube for easy storage, the fixed needles are low weight and ready to use.
D-SPLICER now sells the new D-16. These scissors have all the features you need to cut the world’s strongest fibres like Dyneema, Spectra and Aramid. The blades are made of high carbon stainless and have special modified angles for easy controlled cutting.
