D-SPLICER needle set
The D-SPLICER set can almost be called a classic since it was introduced a few years ago and sold around the world to sailors and riggers. With an aluminum handle and replaceable needles in different sizes, it is a great tool for splicing ropes. Make sure to use the matching needle size to the rope diameter and only clamp just the tip of the rope between the double wire needle. Occasionally needles can break, but when used in the right manner they last very long.

D-SPLICER fixed XL – professional
D-SPLICER has a range of extra long needles for professional riggers. Being approximately 50 cm (~20 inch) long , they prove to be helpful for many jobs. The needles come in three sizes (1.5, 2.0 & 2.5 mm thick) for different diameter ropes. Essential to have in your riggingdepartment, workshop and toolbox.

D-SPLICER ceramic knife
D-SPLICER ceramic knife makes it easy to cut ropes made out of high-tech fibers like HMPE, Dyneema® or Stirotex®. The knives stay sharp very long and can cut the thickest ropes. Although make sure to handle them gently as it were a tea cup… after all, they are ceramic!
This knife should be part of every rigger’s and sailor’s toolbox with splicing tools.

Softfid
When rope splicing it can be very difficult to pull through a rope. Even a D-SPLICER pulling fid will not always do the job as more strength needs to be applied and/or there is not enough space.
A Softfid is another great innovation by D-SPLICER. Simple and effective! You first pull through the thin Dyneema rope and then clamp the rope into the white cover. By pulling the Softfid, the cover will tighten itself around the rope.

New product: ceramic knife
Cutting fibers like Dyneema, Spectra, Vectran etc. is hard to do. This ceramic knife does it with ease. New in our assortment and a great addition to the existing tools.
D-SPLICER used by Alex Thomson Racing team
At facebook we spotted this picture where the rigging manager of the Alex Thomson racing team splices together two ropes to create a strop which will be used to connect back stays onto the rig. That strop has to hold up to 6 tons of load delivered from the mast. Nice to see that the D-SPLICER fixed needle to be used.
